About The Frenchgate
The Frenchgate occupies a Grade II listed Georgian residence on Frenchgate, the steep street that runs down from Richmond's old town towards the River Swale. Converted into a small bed and breakfast, it offers four individually furnished guest rooms, each en-suite with either a bath and shower or a large walk-in shower.
Rooms are decorated in keeping with the building's period character, with an emphasis on providing a quiet, restful stay rather than a heavily styled one, and the house's position on Frenchgate means several rooms take in views over the town and towards the surrounding hills.
The Frenchgate particularly welcomes walkers and cyclists, sitting as it does close to the start of routes out towards Easby Abbey and the wider Coast to Coast path, while remaining a short, mostly level walk from the Market Place, castle and theatre for evenings in the town itself.

What guests say
I came to Frenchgate in Doncaster today to do spend the day shopping and I must say it’s the most convenient place within its region, parking is reasonable and easy access and it has some brilliant shops like H&M, schuh, River Island and I was able to get some birthday presents from Build a Bear and H Samuel! I recommend this shopping centre to anyone looking to do some shopping or spend the day out as they also have a trampoline park🤗

Decent shopping centre, good look and feel, but quiet, not too many shoppers and few shops have closed down. Sad reality of shopping centres unfortunately. The centre is clean, good selection of shops but as mentioned above, some closed down. Overall a good experience, clean, plenty of parking and right in the centre of city

Brilliant shopping centre, Very clean! A good selection of shops, it's also good to see security patroling regularly keeping everyone safe, overall a good experience Although the car park isn't the easiest to find, and parking prices can be expensive. I recommend parking in one of the nearby council owned car parks and walking for a few minutes.

Very nice shopping centre with some great shops, music, and eateries. Unfortunately couldn't spend a long time today due to train but I've planned my return with a very excited daughter to do some shopping as I noticed a build a bear
