This tiny, spectacularly secluded site feels a world away yet sits nicely close to Ringwood market town, with the owners – who've lived locally for over 25 years – full of insider tips on where to explore.
The luxuriously kitted-out accommodation comes with fairy lights, woodburners, and private compost toilets, plus access to a shared toilet and shower. Each pitch has its own firepit, with complimentary marshmallows to toast. The closest pub is half a mile away, while just down the hill you'll find a small supermarket, fish and chip shop, and a bakery doing Friday-Saturday pizza takeaway – perfect for supper while watching resident deer and rabbits potter across the field.

Booked Fernwood for my daughter who wanted to stay in a gypsy caravan. I really thought I wouldn't like it especially the compost toilet. Upon arrival Rachel was there to show us around and how everything worked. Over the weekend she couldn't do enough for us. Rachel had thought of everything you may need, even marshmallows to toast on the fire pit. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept very well. We loved the summer house and sitting outside on the decking for our evening meal. We also loved the fire pit outside the gypsy hut. What surprised us most was how great the compost toilet was. Our perception of what it would be like was completely wrong and it was very clean and hygienic. We even booked for a third night while there as we were having such a lovely time. I would highly recommend Fernwood glamping to anyone. It's in a lovely area away from everything while being close enough to amenities if you need them.

Spent the most magical weekend here. Truly felt like something from a fairytale, waking up to a squirrel knocking on our window was a real highlight as was watching the deers in the field. The hut itself was beautiful, very comfortable with everything you needed for a relaxing weekend. We would highly recommend the breakfast hamper with the most delicious warm muffins! Will definitely be back again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Fernwood. Rachel gave us a very warm welcome upon arrival, and continued to deliver helpful, friendly service throughout our stay. The Gypsy Van is so cute. We were very happy with the facilities. We had everything we needed to enjoy a few peaceful days away. We also had a beach day as it's only a 25 min drive to the coast. There are lovely lakes and a nature reserve nearby. It was a real treat to see a mama deer with her little fawns running around in the field next door! The breakfast hamper was also a lovely treat! Highly recommend. 🙂👌
