Brookside

Open heaths, wild ponies and forest footpaths start at the gate of Brookside, a converted 19th-century cottage tucked into the New Forest's countryside. Bournemouth's beaches lie within reach for a day trip, as do Salisbury and the New Forest Lakes. Riding and golf courses sit nearby, and the village shops and a food-serving pub are a couple of miles away.

The whole ground floor is yours: a living and dining room with Freeview and a woodburner, a sun room, a kitchen with the essentials for self-catering, and a shower room. Two bedrooms, each with a double bed, sleep up to four people. Heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included; logs for the fire can be bought locally. An enclosed rear garden with furniture provides outdoor space, and there is parking for two cars on the property. One dog stays free.

The cottage has low-level furniture and compact rooms. Families with children under five, or those with mobility needs requiring step-free access and spacious layouts, should enquire about suitability before booking. No smoking throughout.
