Rural Rother offers quiet countryside living within reach of the Kent and East Sussex border. Ivy Cottage is a detached barn conversion set in its own grounds, with a stream running along one edge of the garden. The property sits 300 yards from the owners' home on a working sheep farm, giving genuine seclusion while remaining accessible to local amenities—a pub is less than a mile away, and shops about two miles distant.
Inside, everything is on one level. Two bedrooms sleep four: one with a double bed, the other with two singles. The bathroom has a bath with shower attachment. The kitchen is equipped for cooking, with an electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. The living and dining area has a television, DVD and CD player. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. The spacious garden is lawned with BBQ and seating; there is parking for four cars on site. Note that the stream bordering the garden is unfenced.
Walks start from the doorstep into rolling countryside. Bodiam Castle, the Kent and East Sussex Vintage Steam Railway, and the gardens at Pashley Manor, Great Dixter and Sissinghurst are all within a short drive. Rye is 11 miles away, Camber Sands 14½ miles, and a fishing farm at Hawkhurst about 2 miles. A golf course is five miles off. No smoking inside the property.
