Reeves Estate - Hideaway
Rother
Reeves Ancient Woods, two miles from Battle, shelters the Hideaway—a converted shipping container that sleeps two in a single bedroom. The surrounding woodland is the real draw here: dense enough to feel properly secluded, close enough to the historic town that you can walk or drive into Battle High Street for its museums, independent shops and restaurants whenever you want. The ground-floor layout is open-plan, with living space, kitchen area and bedroom flowing into one another, which works well for a couple but keeps things intimate.
Essentials are covered: bed linen, towels and heating are included. The kitchen has an electric hob, microwave and air fryer, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. There's a shower room with cubicle shower. Outside, the real luxury comes into play—an enclosed garden holds a six-person hot tub (yours alone to use), garden furniture, and a gas barbecue for evening meals. A ping pong table is also available if you want to play. One parking space is on site. No smoking throughout.
This suits couples looking for a break away from routine rather than families or groups. Battle itself draws history enthusiasts—the 1066 battle site and its Abbey are the obvious draws—but the appeal here is really the combination of woodland quiet and having your own hot tub ready at the end of the day.
