Whydown Cottage

Battle sits close enough to the coast that holidaymakers often base themselves here, and Whydown Cottage is built to handle groups seeking a whole property rental. The cottage accommodates 12 across five bedrooms: four kingsize doubles with pull-out singles, one super kingsize, and three bathrooms spread over three floors. Essentials are covered—electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all included, along with parking for four vehicles.

The ground floor opens into a living room with woodburner and smart TV, flowing into a kitchen/dining space fitted for actual cooking: electric range, dishwasher, American fridge, wine cooler and coffee machine, with bi-fold doors onto a patio. A separate summerhouse contains a pool table, darts and Xbox, plus another bathroom with shower. Outside, an enclosed garden has the hot tub for six, patio furniture and a barbecue; there are seven garden steps to be aware of. Entry to the house is via two steps. One dog travels free of charge, and the owners provide a welcome pack on arrival. Smoking is not permitted indoors.
