About Chestnut Meadow Glamping and Camping

Tucked away on the outskirts of Bexhill-on-Sea, Chestnut Meadow Glamping and Camping offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of 1066 Country, where history and heritage meet the Sussex coast. Sheltered by trees and hedges, this family-friendly site strikes a balance between tranquil seclusion and easy access – a bus stop right outside means the beach is just 10 minutes away without needing the car. Guests consistently praise the spacious, well-equipped lodges with their private hot tubs, while the modern heated shower block includes a parent-and-baby washroom that makes life easier for families.

Beyond the site's playground and dog-friendly open spaces, you're ideally placed for exploring Battle Abbey, Bodiam Castle and Herstmonceux Castle via quiet cycle routes. The on-site seasonal shop covers camping basics, and the friendly, helpful staff contribute to an atmosphere reviewers describe as genuinely relaxing. Green touches like recycling points and wildlife areas add a conscientious edge, though some might find the facilities feel a touch functional rather than luxurious – this is camping at its straightforward, unpretentious best.

What visitors say

We had such a relaxing stay at Chestnut Meadow Campsite – exactly what we were hoping for. The site is lovely, peaceful, and quiet, making it the perfect place to unwind as a couple. The toilet and shower facilities are absolutely spotless and exceptionally well maintained, with plenty of lovely hot water. We’ve stayed at many campsites over the years, and we can honestly say these are the best shower and toilet facilities we’ve come across. There’s a small shop on site, which is really handy for picking up any essentials. During our stay, we were also treated to a visit from a fantastic waffle wagon, which made for a delicious sweet treat. We also enjoyed some amazing wood-fired pizza from just down the road, which we brought back to the campsite to enjoy in the peaceful surroundings. Overall, Chestnut Meadow Campsite is a fantastic place to stay, and we’ll definitely be making it a regular getaway for us as a couple. We can’t wait to return!

We stayed in one of their excellent lodges & really couldn't fault it! Clean, tidy, well equipped & had an excellent hot tub! Although we never used them, there is a shop a small children's playground & an office on site. The site is about a 10 minute drive to the beach at Bexhill-on-Sea, so for us, it was an ideal location. The staff were very informative regarding the booking & kept in touch via text & email. So long as you don't want bars, restaurants & slot machines, this is a lovely quiet site to visit & would thoroughly recommend it😊.

If you’re looking for the perfect mix of tranquil calm and modern luxury, look no further. We recently returned from a stay at this lovely caravan lodge, and "impressed" doesn’t even begin to cover it. From the moment we stepped inside, the "wow" factor was immediate. Forget any outdated notions you have of static/mobile homes—this lodge felt more like a high-end boutique apartment. The open-plan living area was flooded with natural light, featuring vaulted ceilings and chic, contemporary decor that felt both spacious and cozy. The kitchen was a dream, fully equipped with integrated appliances (including a wine cooler and coffee maker!) P.s if you’re a tea lover bring your own tea bags. The undisputed star of the show was the private hot tub. I’d like to mention by name Simon & Billy who went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Whether you’re a couple seeking a romantic escape or a family wanting a luxury base for adventures, this lodge delivers on every front. 10/10. We arrived hoping for a lot and left feeling completely rejuvenated. We’re already talking about when to book our return visit!

Beautiful place to stay. Immaculatly clean throughout. Amazing hot tub, which was hot and clean! Really nice decoration throughout and very comfy beds. Everything was very well equipped, with little extras such as washing up liquid and coffee which was greatfully recieved. Everything you needed in the kitchen, including dishwasher and wine fridge! Even the ice cube tray was prefilled for us! Lovely coffee machine and pods. Free bottle of prosecco on arrival, which was lovely. Beautiful scenery, enjoying dinner outside. Tvs in every bedroom, not that we needed them, but smart tv in the living room. Loved the fireplace too. Very friendly staff on check out. Lovely little playground for the kids. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be back! Our new favourite little gem near the beach! Honestly couldn't fault our stay, thank you for a lovely time!
