About Valley View Camping
Valley View Camping sits in a peaceful spot near Scarborough, offering a genuine rural escape with views across the North Yorkshire countryside. The site keeps things simple—non-electric grass and hardstanding pitches alongside a handful of shepherd's huts and camping pods—but what it lacks in frills it makes up for in atmosphere. Campfires are allowed, dogs are welcome, and the adult-only policy ensures a quieter vibe. Reviewers praise the friendly owners and tranquil setting, though a few note the facilities can feel a little basic for the price.
It's an easy drive to Scarborough's beaches and the coastal drama of Flamborough Head, while the North York Moors are on your doorstep for proper walking country. If you're after low-key charm and a properly peaceful pitch, Valley View delivers.

What visitors say
Absolutely fantastic campsite could not believe what we got for the price. We stayed in my little converted camper van on a grass and hard pitch. The toilet and shower block was very well maintained and cleaned. The shower water was hot. The washing facilities were also very clean and the fridge, kettle and microwave were an incredibly welcome addition. This campsite was not overcrowded and had plenty of space and a very nice view. The honesty shop was a fantastic addition. Also, the closeness to the cinder track was brilliant. One thing of note for shy people is that the toilet blocks have a gap between the wall and the roof. So if you are worried about that, you may need to time your visits

We booked to stay for the weekend but unfortunately, Storm Amy was on the way. We called the site to ask if we could upgrade to a pod for safety, but were told no. We explained that we’d be arriving in a few hours as we were travelling from the Lakes. We set off but quickly realised how bad the conditions were — flooded roads, fallen trees, and struggling to keep the car in the lane. It became clear that travelling any further was too dangerous. We emailed the site to explain we couldn’t continue the journey and that, with my partner being pregnant, camping in a storm just wasn’t viable. Realistically, no one should be expected to camp in those conditions. We didn’t hear anything back — no call, no email to check if we were safe after not arriving during the storm. Four days later, I followed up with another email and was told simply that they “don’t give refunds because of weather.” If it had just been rain, I’d understand. But expecting guests to camp in a severe storm shows a complete disregard for people’s safety. I chose this site based on the positive reviews, but their handling of this situation speaks volumes. Sadly, it seems profit comes before customer care. I’d strongly suggest spending your money elsewhere.

We loved our stay at Valley View Campsite. Perfect location close to the cinder track, for traffic free cycling between Scarborough and Whitby. Facilities are great, showers, toilets and pot wash all spotless and brand new. We came at the perfect time with little lambs playing. Stayed an extra night to enjoy the current great weather.

We camped here for 2 nights on our way to Scotland. You pick your own pitch, between some newly planted laurels, they will be lovely when they grow, there are hardstanding and grass pitches, that you pick on booking. There is a drinking water tap, also pot wash room, 3 toilets and 2 showers to share. I think they have been fairly recently done, so were all in good condition. There is also an honesty shop, that has various items in, you just leave the money of the things you want. Ample bins to put your rubbish in, including various recycling and a general waste bin.
