Wardle Rigg Campsite

Great little farm campsite with all the basics, a couple of toilets, hot shower and water. Its not a big commercial site with lots of facilities but you are not paying for that and they are upfront on thier website. We stayed on the camping field which had great views and we loved walking round the farm with all the animals. Well away from main roads, but not too tricky to get to as long as you follow the discrete sign at the first lane turn off and not your satnav!

We've just spent this bank holiday weekend here and loved every moment the family who run this site on there farm are so warm and welcoming nothings a bother, I loved all the animals watching them with the lambs docking tails and stroking the lovely friendly goats and getting to hold the one day old chicks ❤️ I was in my glory..cant thank you enough. I hope your site goes from strength to strength and no doubt we will be back

Stayed here Saturday 18th April 2026 for one night. Full respect from us to this farm! We loved it's authenticity (we could see the owners working on the farm and they work hard without even disturbing the tranquil ambiance! How on earth have they managed to do that!!!! ??? Incredible!). From the really well cared for happy pigs, to the freely walking about chickens and watching the sheep interact with the farmers was such a blessing to see too, very, very, well cared for livestock and it showed in abundance.! Lovely that the pitches (which were level and very generous) for "everyone", not just us, were "in the very heart of the farm" itself! Wherever you are on this site you are guaranteed a beautiful view which makes it very special! Everyone gets a wonderful view of the sea and the surrounding fields. We were so happy with our pitch but would have been happy anywhere! Nice to see House Martins dipping and diving around us too. The facilities were immaculate, toilets and showers kept clean and more than sufficient, even though described as "basic". We thought it exceeded the term "basic" for the average working farm so were pleasantly surprised. Also, what we were surprised about and were not expecting at all (so were really taken aback), was the amount of stars at night, it was a clear night, and so this just topped everything off. Nice that this farm has sharp clear nights when not cloudy. Loved it! We found other campers to be respectful, quiet, and simply put, "decent people" who respected "the space provided by the owners and space of other campers". Everything clearly marked, well organised and kept clean on site. Brilliant vibe on this site, just right! Can't fault it whatsoever. Do I personally have any regrets? I think so, not arriving a little sooner and spending more of the afternoon there, and not popping into their little shop which sells their own produce. Wish we had done those two things. Next time (because there definitely will be a next time), we won't be stopping for just one night. Would love to do that coastal walk which you can do from this campsite and stay for longer. I just want to say, even if the British weather turned out to be terrible, this is a campsite that "fully compensates" for that because it is so lovely to be on whatever the weather. It's one of those prestige campsites in a very beautiful part of Yorkshire that has held on to it's "Yorkshireness" in style! A big thank you to the owners of this farm! It's top!

Review posted on behalf of parents who stayed in the holiday home: Just stayed in the newly installed holiday home, Barbria, on Bent Rigg Farm Campsite. We've loved our stay and will return. Loved - the views, walking locally, sitting on our patio area with firepit. Loved the carefully thought out local area guide. We went as a couple but will return with grandchildren as plenty of space - en suite plus bathroom and 2 bedrooms. Board games were a nice touch and fast WIFI. Appreciated the well equipped kitchen. The fantastic views from the lounge were so enjoyable. We almost didn't want to go out! Loved our stay on this friendly working farm and our helpful hosts.
