Set within a terraced building of four floors, The Clarence Gardens Hotel, BW Signature Collection has 25 rooms that have been recently updated, giving the place a modern, well-kept feel throughout. Many rooms look out over the sea, and while some are on the compact side, they come with en-suite bathrooms and the option of family rooms for those travelling in a group. A lift serves all floors, and free on-site parking is available for drivers.
Breakfast is served with a good spread of hot and cold options, and there's a restaurant and bar on site for meals and drinks without needing to head out. Our stay at Clarence Gardens was fantastic from start to finish. We booked one of the premium king rooms, which had been newly refurbished and was modern, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was especially cosy, and we had one of the best nights sleep. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly and informative receptionist, which set the tone for our stay. We also chose to dine in the cosy bar area, where the food was excellent and the service was just as impressive and our server was polite, attentive, and made us feel really looked after. Location was fab, and easy to park! We’ll definitely be returning thank you again for a lovely stay!

This is an amazing little find for us. We travelled with two kids and a little dog and it’s really hard to find places that accommodate us and are still so nice. The hotel looks freshly decorated and was very clean and beautiful, the service was amazing. They have several family rooms. We were very impressed by the breakfast as well. The views from the front room/ bar and front of the hotel are beautiful overlooking North Bay. In addition to the amazing breakfast, they also have a bar, board games, daytime snacks and a restaurant for dinner (bookings needed). There is a small car park at the back. It’s about 10-15 walk to the harbour and south bay. We will definitely be coming back here!

Lovely hotel…newly refurbished to a very high standard! The bar room is amazing and has views over the castle and bay! Breakfast was bang on! We normally stop at the Crown Spa…and this will now be our go to hotel in Scarborough! Don’t hesitate…make a booking!

We stayed here for 2 nights as we were going to a wedding nearby. Every member of staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful which was lovely to experience. We had breakfast both mornings and it was brilliant both times, definitely better than most hotel buffet breakfasts, you could really fill your boots! We’d booked a cosy double non-sea view room as we’d be out most of the time, it was small and cosy but had everything we needed and was nicely decorated, the bed was very comfy and we slept well both nights. We never struggled to park nearby, it was £5 for a permit from the hotel for on road parking in the vicinity of hotel or there is a car park at the back that belongs to the hotel, although we didn’t use it so I can’t comment on it. Location was great, right on the seafront and a short walk to South Bay, overall a great experience and would stay here again!
