About The Esplanade Hotel
The Esplanade sits on Belmont Road, directly above South Bay, and does the traditional seaside hotel stay as well as anywhere in Scarborough: a restaurant with bay views for breakfast and dinner, a Parlour Bar for drinks with a terrace outside, and the separate Landau Restaurant for evening meals.

Considering the price I paid, the stay here was decent. When I arrived, there was no member of staff at reception for about an hour, even after ringing the bell multiple times. This was also at check in time so it was busy. The building and rooms are dated and old fashioned, but again I didn't pay much for my room and the bed was definitely comfortable. The views are amazing, but the walk up to the hotel is on top of a hill. Obviously this can't be helped but avoid if you struggle with mobility. Outside of that, it was good.

Came for the weekend for my daughter’s 10th birthday. They were so lovely, they made her feel so special with balloons and a card in the room. The family room was soo clean and spacious. The sea view was exceptional. The breakfast was inter-continental and fresh. Sooo yummy. It was at the doorstep to the beach and easy to get to the town centre. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family. The staff were amazing ❤️❤️❤️

Room suited us for one night. Spacious with lounge area and balcony with a fab view over the bay/harbour. Was room only so unable to comment on food. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Free parking, although only 12 spaces, first come first served basis. Nice walk into Scarborough, steep hill on the way back.

A bit of a climb, which we should have checked before booking. The receptionist didn't crack a smile our way on checking in. The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom seemed recently updated but there wasn't a shelf for toiletries etc. We were disappointed that the ' glasses' in the bathroom were thin plastic cups.
