About The Farrier

A Sunday roast good enough to build a reputation on is the first thing worth knowing about The Farrier, a hotel and restaurant on Main Street in Scarborough. It sits close to the seafront and the town's historic sights, with free on-site parking making it an easy base for exploring on foot or by car.

Rooms are en-suite and thoughtfully finished, with drinks available in room and accessible options for those who need them. A lift serves all floors, and practicalities are well covered with 24 hour reception, room service, laundry service and free WiFi throughout. Families are catered for with kids' meals, while the bar and outdoor seating area make good spots to unwind after a day by the coast.

The kitchen is the heart of the place, with a menu that runs to proper desserts as well as hearty roasts, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day. Staff are attentive and quick to help, which suits the hotel's popularity for special occasions. Beyond the doors, there's a golf course and fishing nearby, plus pubs and restaurants within easy reach for anyone wanting to explore further afield.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Farrier, and I can confidently say it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I arrived, the friendly staff made me feel welcomed and at home. The room was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. The attention to detail in the furnishings added a touch of elegance that made my stay even more enjoyable. The restaurant ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing evening meal. The decor combined rustic charm with modern touches, creating a delightful setting. The menu offered a fantastic selection of dishes, catering to various tastes. For dinner, I had a roast chicken breast along with a couple of cocktails. The meal was delicious, and the cocktails complemented it perfectly. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and ensuring that my dining experience was seamless. My stay at The Farrier turned out to be a delightful escape. Whether you’re looking for a cozy retreat or a memorable dining experience, this establishment delivers on all fronts. Fantastic experience. Staying on the camh site in the village came in on our first afternoon and the pub has it all. Really nice outside space and indoors just as good. Watched the quarter final Saturday night and back again Sunday for lunch. The best Sunday lunch i have had in a good while, everything was quality 👌. Honestly couldn't fault anything. Also every 1 of the staff are an asset to the business, all attentive, efficient and pleasant. All in all a fantastic experience for us.

Had to wait for a table as we hadn’t booked. Not a hardship to drink beer and cocktails. The bar was busy. Abigail was friendly and helpful. The table was ready slightly earlier than expected. Service and food was lovely and tasty. We had fish and chips from the daily specials menu.

Paid and booked through Booking.com for a Tuesday night stay. On the site restaurant and breakfast available..The site didn't explain that there'd be no restaurant available or Weds morning breakfast, this we found out from The Farrier directly after we'd paid. Rather frustrated we decided to stay regardless. One word....SPEECHLESS! It's stunning!....fabulous room very well presented and lovely soft furnishings. Immaculate. Court yard area beautiful too. We'll definitely return.
