About Poachers Barn

Poachers Barn is built around its restaurant and bar, serving hearty portions alongside a broad choice of drinks, including good-value lagers and ciders. The kitchen doesn't always keep the same hours throughout the day, so it's worth checking availability if you're planning a meal around it, but the overall offering and the staff serving it have earned a solid reputation among visitors.

Rooms are traditional and straightforward, with en-suite bathrooms, family rooms for those travelling with children, and drinks available in the room. Kids' meals are on the menu too, and the garden, picnic area and outdoor seating give extra space to eat or relax outside. Free WiFi, luggage storage and 24-hour reception cover the practical side of a stay, and pets are welcome, with a genuinely dog-friendly feel throughout.

Set on Osgodby Lane in Scarborough, the hotel has free on-site parking, useful given its distance from the town centre. Golf, fishing and further pubs, restaurants and entertainment are all within easy reach, alongside Scarborough's beaches and historic sites, making Poachers Barn a practical base for exploring the area.

Shadow of its former self, food awful couldn't get the order right, and poor quality. Dead in the rear room and needs a refit.and to cap it off ordered a sweet then waited 30 mins to then be told chefs gone home..

This was a lovely place to go eat. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They ever came after bringing us our order and brought some dog trays for our 3 dogs, so as you can gather, it's a dog friendly pub, we seen as far as to have a pet treat area for well behaved poochies. There was plenty of tables inside and an outside area for kids to play. There were a lot of reserved tables for later, so can assume it gets busy in the evening. Everywhere was nice and clean and the majority was on one level. There were a couple of small steps between the front and rear bars. It looks like an old building, with many original features around. Overall a lovely place to eat.
