About The Kenton Hotel

Free off-street parking is a rare find this close to the seafront, and it's the standout feature at The Kenton Hotel, a small 12-room property on Queens Parade in Scarborough. The location puts Scarborough Castle and Peasholm Park within easy reach, making it a straightforward base for exploring the town on foot.

Rooms are simple and unfussy, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and free WiFi, with family rooms available for those travelling with children. There's a lift for guests who'd rather skip the stairs, and breakfast is served on-site. A guest lounge with a flat-screen TV gives somewhere to relax beyond the bedroom, while the garden and outdoor seating area offer a spot outside when the weather allows.

Beyond the rooms, the hotel runs to an indoor swimming pool and gym, along with porter and concierge services, luggage storage and a laundry service. It also acts as a wedding venue for those planning an occasion. Golf, fishing, cycling and walking routes are all nearby, alongside pubs, restaurants and entertainment, making it a practical choice for visitors wanting easy access to both the coast and the town.

Great location just 10 minutes walk from the open air theatre and plenty of little cafes/bars/chippys near by. Positives: The bed was super comfy with a decent choice of pillows. Everything was really well cleaned and maintained. The process of getting your keys and getting to your room was quick and painless. All the things you'd expect in a hotel room like ironing board and tea/coffee etc. The owners responded quickly when you text them with questions which is nice. Downstairs was a nice lounge area with self serve tea and coffee, unsure about the bar situation as we didn't use it. Even for an older building the sound proofing was fine we didn't hear anything during the night, could hear the seagulls early though hah! Would probably still recommend ear plugs and a sleep mask. Negatives: Water pressure in the shower was poor and it was tricky to get the right temp. They do state this is because it's a listed building so understandable Car park is awful if you're the last one to arrive. Super tight to get in even in a small hatchback so be careful if you're in a large car. Be careful on booking.com too as we thought we'd booked a Seaview room as there was a picture of the Seaview when you selected the family room. Slightly misleading on the pictures.

Ideally located for SOAT. We got a lovely room with sea view. Hotel in need of modernisation for some but i thought was very quirky. No breakfast just beds but out room came equipped with microwave and fridge. Plenty of supplies of tea coffee and milk in shared dining area with a microwave and boiler for hot water. There's also a bar. Great checking in set up too. No lift.

Amy was so incredibly welcoming and couldn’t be more helpful. The rooms were clearly cared for and to a good standard. Although no food is available, there’s a little well stocked bar at a decent price along with free tea/ coffee available. I think my daughter counted 18 different types of tea! There’s plenty of facilities available to be able to heat food. We had a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge in the room. There’s a good selection of board games in the bar area with really cosy chairs/ sofas to just chill on after a long day. The beds were comfortable with lovely pillows. We all slept really well. The sea view was beautiful. It was lovely to sit with a coffee on the morning while everyone else was still asleep! Really easy access to the beach and some fab restaurants/ cafes. Thank you Amy, we will be back soon.

Excellent family home-from-home. Enjoyed our stay in beautiful Scarbados. Sea view rooms and off-street private parking. 2 adults and 2 youngsters shared a nice en-suite room with a double bed and bunk beds. Mini fridge and fan in the room, plentiful amount of tea and coffee and lots of communal facilities available for all. Friendly accommodating host. We've already booked to return whilst we were there. Thanks
