Built back from the shoreline in Burnmouth, a small fishing village on the Scottish Borders coast, Seal View is a terraced cottage where the sea dominates the view. The living room faces the water across a landscaped garden and patio, and at low tide you can often spot the grey seals that gave the property its name. The cottage sits 100 yards from the rocky shore and pebble beach, close enough to feel the pull of the sea but far enough to avoid the spray.
Two bedrooms sleep five: a double on the first floor and a bunk arrangement (double base with single above) with its own TV. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower. Downstairs, the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with electric ovens, a dishwasher and washing machine. There is a living room with a 43-inch Smart TV, DVD player and an open fire for cooler evenings. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; fuel for the fire is available locally. The garden has steep access and opens unfenced to the beach, so this is not suitable for young children or those who need level terrain.
Burnmouth itself is tiny, but St Abbs and Eyemouth with their working harbours are close by, as are Coldingham's sandy beach (popular with divers and surfers) and the St Abbs National Nature Reserve. Berwick, 6 miles away, has museums, galleries and restaurants. Walking, cycling and fishing are all nearby. One dog stays free. Non-smoking property.
