About Acorn Wood

Tucked on the edge of Burton upon Stather, this tiny adults-only retreat revolves around a well-stocked fishing lake and a communal log cabin where guests swap books, chat over drinks and watch the rods. It's exclusively for experienced anglers (rod licence required), but even non-fishers appreciate the peaceful, wildlife-rich setting and the easy access to Lincolnshire's walking and cycling trails. The ten pitches are electric gravel hardstandings with drainage hook-ups, and there's a small daily shop stocking basics, gifts and bait.

Burton upon Stather village, a short stroll away, supplies pubs serving hearty food and essential stores. The site can feel a touch utilitarian in layout, but the warm welcome, spotless facilities and genuinely tranquil atmosphere more than compensate. For a low-key North Lincolnshire escape—rod in hand or not—Acorn Wood delivers understated charm.

3 absolutely fully relaxing and quiet night's!! What a beautiful little site, well kept with small fishing pond. The showers where best I've ever used for a small site, well done. Great welcome onto the site with local info. Walked to Alkborough flats then The Paddocks Farm cafe and visited Normanby Hall . Pub, shop and traditional sweet shop within walking distance. Will return for sure 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Definitely one of the best sites. We stayed in the lodge (can highly recommend), but i will definitely return with just me, my dog and my tent - its a very safe, quiet, relaxing environment. Lovely walks close by too.
