What visitors say

Becky T

A lovely little local museum with friendly staff and plenty of interesting information about the town's history. Entry is free (though donations welcomed!), and we spent around 25–30 minutes exploring the eight rooms across two floors. The exhibits cover a surprisingly wide range of topics, from local leadership, religion and agriculture to childhood, schools, sport, cinema and women's education and working lives. There are plenty of objects alongside the information panels, helping bring everyday life in Shaftesbury through the centuries to life. Overall, a worthwhile free visit if you're exploring Shaftesbury. It's small enough to fit easily into a day out, but offers a good introduction to the town and its people.

Picturesque views:) Small little village. It was very windy and rainy day when I visited so couldn’t explore much but managed to take a few nice shots, I think? 😉
