About Premier Inn Sheffield City Centre St Marys Gate
Sheffield city centre is compact enough to explore on foot, with its mix of shops, theatres and nearby pubs and restaurants, and the Peak District within easy reach for anyone wanting a day out among hills rather than shopfronts. Premier Inn Sheffield City Centre St Marys Gate puts guests right in the middle of that setting, on Young Street, spread across ten floors with 126 rooms.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities, with accessible rooms available. Bathrooms and beds are a strong point, with guests regularly commenting on how clean and comfortable the rooms feel. A restaurant on site serves breakfast and evening meals, and the cooked breakfast in particular gets consistent praise for being fresh and well made. Staff are generally friendly and accommodating, though at busier times the hotel can feel a little short-staffed, so patience helps.
Chargeable parking is available nearby, useful given the central location, and reception operates around the clock for late arrivals or early starts. Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers golf, fishing and horse riding for those wanting to venture further out, alongside the pubs, restaurants and entertainment within walking distance.

Just stayed at this Premier Inn for New Year with family. We wanted to leave a review for the excellent breakfast service. Sally welcomed us each morning with a big smile and friendly chat. She was exceptional even when rushed off her feet. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was nice with a good variety - they also cater for vegetarians/ vegans. The room was good, clean and perfect for our family. Location is good for the town.

I’ve just had an unexpected turn up at my room at precisely 10:15pm. Myself and my friend were joking around on at an empty lift. Please bear in mind there was an external customer who travelled with us from the ground floor to the 4th floor and everything was civil (baring the hotels business in mind). Once we got to the 5th floor my friend was getting out and I held him as a joke. The door didn’t even attempt to shut it was that short of a joke. Half a hour later as I was tucked away in bed. I was greeted very aggressively by a member of staff called Matthew. He obviously thought that he could use my age (23) vs his age (mid 40s) against myself to intimidate me. He threw empty threats saying he will call the police and have me arrested, also he will kick me out of the hotel. I asked him politely if my friend was pressing charges against assault. This was dismissed immediately. I then asked him where in premier inns terms and conditions is it acceptable to come to my room with this sort of aggressiveness when no customer nor member of staff has felt either intimidated/annoyed. Additionally after him stating he will kick me out of the hotel. I then asked him where in premier inns terms and conditions does it state what he had a problem with (which was a innocent joke between friends in a area with no public eye) was it nessacary to pound on my door and attempt to intimidate me like he did. After this… (my door to my room was kept open with my foot) he then attempted to slam the door shut on my foot and say that’s it goodnight. I precieve this as assault and although I do not wish to press charges I do wish premier inns takes immediate action against this. I have this encounter recorded on my phone. Please provide me with a member of staff’s email address for me to forward this to. I’d rather sort this issue direct rather than involve my legal team. As a reoccurring customer I find this sort of behaviour disgusting you can have a look at the account booking and see how often we stay with you guys and have never, ever had a problem. Many thanks Kiane

I stay in a lot of premier inns, most weeks! All I can say is this is one of the best. It’s only because of the wonderful Josh and Tina. Absolutely fantastic, they have both made my stay ten times better. Only reason I would stay again is because of them. Thank you
