About Royal Victoria Sheffield, DoubleTree by Hilton

Royal Victoria Sheffield began life as a Victorian railway hotel and retains much of its original grandeur, from the sweeping staircase to the high-ceilinged public rooms, now run as a four-star DoubleTree by Hilton property. Its position close to Sheffield station makes it a convenient choice for anyone arriving by train.

Bedrooms mix period features with contemporary furnishings, and several of the hotel's suites include deep soaking tubs. Guests have access to a fitness suite and sauna, and the hotel's bar and restaurant occupy some of the building's most impressive original spaces.

The Millennium Gallery, Winter Garden and main shopping streets are all within a short walk, making this a practical base for a city break that still delivers a sense of occasion.

We have stayed for a few days whilst our daughter had her wedding in the city. Lots of relatives stayed in the hotel too. We've had a lovely time and don't want to go home! The breakfast chef is amazing. His enthusiasm and welcome was so lovely ❤️ The reception staff are all wonderful and so helpful. We will definitely be coming back.

A truly unique hotel, full of fascinating reminders of the history of the old Victoria Station. The building itself is beautiful and rich in character, making the stay feel much more special than a typical hotel experience. A special thank you to Sohail, who kindly gave us a wonderful tour of the hotel. He showed us many of the historic photographs throughout the property, explained the stories behind them, and shared his impressive knowledge of the building’s history. He also took the time to show us the stunning ballroom, which was a real highlight of our visit. Sohail’s enthusiasm, friendliness, and deep understanding of the hotel’s heritage made our stay truly memorable. Thank you for helping create such an unforgettable evening.

Perfect for exploring Sheffield. Very clean and comfortable hotel. Good size rooms, plenty of parking. Breakfast was very good and lots of options. Staff are very efficient and friendly/helpful. We stayed over for a concert, Perfect, just a short taxi ride away. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect in every way! We were there for my son’s swim race, had a very good sleep in this hotel, we booked the twin double beds room, the beds are very comfortable, rooms are air conditioned which is a must during these heat waves. The rooms are quiet, there were other families with children but we couldn’t hear anything. Breakfast was brilliant, the staffs are so so nice to us. Reception helped us book a taxi to the race we are going and it arrived within five minutes( the hotel is actually quite close to the Ponds forge we could have walked but I wanted to save my son’s energy for the races). We had a great results in the race, I believe the good night sleep and good breakfast really helped putting my son in his best condition. The hotel is children friendly yet very quiet, good soundproof rooms, it’s not easy to come across a children friendly hotel but not noisy. The building itself is very beautiful but don’t worry the inside is extremely well maintained and not old nor worn at all. We also had dinner in the restaurant the food tastes great.
