I’ve just finished a 5-week throwing course and am genuinely sad it’s come to an end! I’d wanted to try pottery for a while, and it’s been such a fun (and very humbling!) thing to learn. Ali has been brilliant throughout, so patient, encouraging and happy to help, even when things weren’t quite going to plan on the wheel. She created such a relaxed and welcoming environment that made it easy to have a go, make mistakes and keep improving. I enjoyed myself so much so I’m interested in joining the studio as a member. Thank you!

Had a really fun evening learning the basics of a new skill. Alli was amazing - she had loads of patience teaching us first time throwers! She talked us through every stage of the process and guided us along the way. I’d definitely recommend the throwing workshop for an unusual but fun experience with family or friends.

I took a 5 week throwing course here and fell in love with pottery almost immediately. After just one session, I booked onto the hand building course as well, that’s how hooked I was. With both courses, I was in the studio twice a week, and I honestly couldn’t speak more highly of Alli. She is an incredible teacher; she’s happy to help when you need it but also encouraging, and genuinely passionate. She created such a welcoming environment where no question ever felt silly. Everyone in the class loved coming to the sessions and couldn’t wait for the next one. Alli truly helped me fall in love with pottery. The courses finished just before Christmas, and there was a short wait to become a member while the studio moved into a larger space. I’m now a member and the new studio is great, it has anything you could want or need to pursue this hobby If you’re thinking about trying pottery, I would highly recommend The Clay Rooms, Loughborough.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a pottery throwing experience here for my birthday, and after visiting yesterday I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable things I’ve done in a long time. We arrived feeling pretty nervous, convinced we’d be absolutely hopeless, but Alli couldn’t have made us feel more at ease. Her teaching style was so calm, patient and logical, breaking everything down into simple, manageable steps that somehow made something that looked impossible feel achievable. The 90 minutes absolutely flew by because we got completely lost in the process. It was so relaxing, and before we knew it the session was over. Thank you for such a lovely experience. Alli is a fantastic teacher, and I’d recommend The Clay Rooms without hesitation to anyone thinking of giving pottery throwing a go.
