I stayed in Saltire for a lovely long weekend with some family. I used to visit every Sunday just over 20 years ago with my Grandparents, and now when I get chance to return to this lovely tramway with my daughter, I can enjoy and reminisce about all of my happy memories of the walks, the tram, the sweet shop and the long gone Victorian funfair. The prices have always remained fair and the staff are just the friendliest bunch. A little bit of joy, give this place a visit! :-)

Lovely little tramway, run entirely by friendly volunteers, pay £3.00 and you can go up and down as many times as you like. At the bottom is Roberts park.and if you walk through you can visit Saltaire. Charming place.

This is our country at its best. Volunteers running a beautiful tramway for the pleasure and enjoyment of others. It’s not brash, expensive, commercial. It is a small friendly enterprise that I am sure gives huge pleasure to many people. I loved it. It was a few minutes each way of the joy of nature and the bluntest running it were super lovely.
