What diners say
I arrived a little earlier than the rest of my group and was shown to our pre-booked table. The staff were very attentive from the moment I arrived. I started with three oysters, which came with all the trimmings, along with a pint—everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. Once the rest of my friends arrived, our waiter took our orders, and we couldn’t resist having another oyster each before our Sunday lunch. They were a real hit with everyone. There were six of us in total, and every single person rated the food between 9 and 10 out of 10. The waiter was friendly, welcoming and very hospitable, and the bar staff were equally excellent. The restaurant is in a lovely setting with a great atmosphere and is perfect for a bit of people-watching. We all had a brilliant afternoon and will definitely be back. Thanks to the whole team!

We had a lovely meal here with our daughter. We shared 6 oysters and the prawn scotch egg. We decided to go for one of each meat (chicken, pork and lamb) and they were served with crispy roast potatoes, salad, aioli and bread. Personally I preferred the rotisserie chicken but it was all very good. Great service too 😊

Service was poor. We had someone sit us down and give us menus. All good. The next person told us there was only chicken left. The original waiter came back and said there was chicken and lamb but we told him there was only chicken. When the kitchen closed at 6pm the waiters just stopped working and went onto their phones. We stacked our own plates and eventually went to the bar for the bill. A real let down as the food is fantastic

Definitely one of my top five favourite pubs in London. The Guinness and the food never disappoint, and the atmosphere is consistently spot on - relaxed, welcoming, and full of character. It strikes a rare balance between lively and comfortable, making it just as good for catching up with friends as it is for settling in for a calm weekend. The staff are friendly and efficient without being overbearing, and the crowd always feels right - local, easygoing, and there for a good time rather than a loud one. It’s the kind of place you come back to without thinking twice, because you know exactly what you’re getting, and it always delivers.
