About Long Mountain Centre
Tucked into sloping countryside just 10 minutes from the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, Long Mountain Centre is a properly rural, family-run spot where you can tour the working farm and stables, meet the horses and chickens, or even bring your own horse on holiday for an additional fee. The setting delivers on peace and spectacular scenery—ideal for walkers and wild-camping enthusiasts—though facilities are kept deliberately simple (toilets and showers, plus wifi) to preserve that tranquil vibe. It's a 20-minute drive to the nearest pubs and shops, so firing up a barbecue under the stars is often the easiest supper solution.
Out and about, Welshpool and Shrewsbury are both within 20 minutes, offering castles, gardens and the steam-driven Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway. Cycling, fishing and canoeing are all close by, making this a fine base for families keen to fill their days with exploration and fresh air.

What visitors say
We've just returned from a few nights to see family and spread ashes of a loved one. I thought the location was fab, good amount of parking, honesty shop, spacious cabins, beautiful views, what more could you really ask for. We all had a lovely time. I'd really like to book to return.

We had a lovely stay at the Rowley Long Mountain Cabin. The cabin was warm, cosy, and tucked away in a peaceful, remote area ,perfect if you’re looking to escape the busy city life. The road leading there is quite narrow, but once you arrive, the views and tranquillity make it worthwhile. We enjoyed stargazing at night and even managed to capture some great photos of the clear sky. Pony trekking is also available nearby, which makes the stay even more special, especially for families. A great little hideaway for nature lovers!

A slice of heaven up in the Welsh border Long Mountain. We stayed in the cabin for 5 nights our 7 & 8 year old girls absolutely loved the place on impact with the pony in the field in front of the cabin with her foal galloping back and forth and greeting them when we arrived back from our day trips out. We booked for the girls to have their first pony trek and they loved it so much that we booked them on a second time. Staff are friendly and great with the little ones making them confident around the ponies and even working them up to a trot on their first go. We thoroughly recommend this place for a holiday or a horse ride or both. The view itself is worth the drive. Stunning!

Really well laid out nice lodges with great mountain scenic views Friendly owners and their horses are right by your lodges which is an added bonus Honesty box in operation on site too with a good range of stock. Would recommend a stay to anyone wanting a few days away WiFi did drop in and out on our first night but no problem since you come to get away from life not to be connected to it 24/7
