What visitors say
Stayed a couple of nights, a very late decision as we were visiting family and due to the recent hot weather we needed EHU for the air con. Called the owner Wayne who was extremely amenable and allowed us to stay the following day no problem. Wayne was so helpful and even did a Chinese takeaway run on the Saturday evening. The site was immaculatetly clean and extremely quiet and peaceful. Due to having a motorhome we needed to move on the Sunday to visit family. There was no issue with times to get back on the pitch. I would really recommend this site.

Lovely little site with a very homely feeling. The owner is very friendly and takes a lot of pride in his beautiful site, and fair enough as you can see throughout the place the little touches and how well he is taking care of everything. After reading many other reviews, we were really curious to see how this place looks and after our visit , below are the main points to be noted: 1. The site is spotless (from pitches, to facilities, the lawn around the site everything is taken care of) 2. Yes , there are rules imposed but nothing out of ordinary: common sense for any campers that know how to respect a site! 3. Yes, there is CCTV on site and inside facilities building but this is clearly mentioned during booking, also there are pictures on site showing the area covered and NO intrusive issues, the camera is facing the sinks and hair dryer area (NOT the cubicles or showers). It is all for safety and triggered after certain guests decided not to respect the site 4. Great play area for children, with more available than what you usually find in a standard campsite, very colourful, lots of things for the little ones to do and even with a separate toilet for children whilst playing there. Of course the paint is not always looking shining new because 1 UK is famous for rainy days and 2. Because paint does not last forever and is to be refreshed from time to time 5. There is a big field available to walk/exercise your dog, which is amazing (and very clean and with well taken care of grass) 6. Showers are clean, spacious and with nice hot water 7. Lovely donkeys, goats and ducks residents which the owner was kind enough to show to us 8. Really nice and quirky decorations around the site (again some might love, some might not, we did enjoy seeing them!) 9. Metered electricity with very very good prices (barely anything after a night's stay in our van) This site is perfect and we do recommend it, we had a really good night stay and we hope to return soon!

Walnut Cottage Campsite is an excellent, well run site in a great Shropshire location near Much Wenlock and Church Stretton. I stayed in a campervan on a fully serviced pitch, with electric, fresh water and drainage provided directly on the pitch. Everything was clean, clearly laid out and very easy to use, which made the stay straightforward and comfortable. The toilet and shower blocks are modern, heated and immaculately maintained. There is also a good children’s play area, which makes the site particularly suitable for families. Security is taken seriously, with CCTV coverage and a gated entrance giving real peace of mind. The owner, Wayne, is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. His personal touch genuinely sets the site apart. At weekends, guests may even be treated to a hand delivered kebab or Chinese takeaway, which is a lovely and unexpected bonus. Overall, this was a very positive experience. A secure, well equipped campsite with excellent facilities and a warm, personal approach. Highly recommended.

Myself and my family have just spent 4 nights on this site. We loved it. Peaceful and quiet with no noise from traffic. Lovely play area for our grandson. The amenities were clean and warm. Shower was out of this world. Turn on and don’t have to keep press a button for water. Over head shower and you can have it as hot as you like. Best we’ve ever had in a campsite Wayne the owner was very helpful. From loaning us an electric cable, watering can, hose pipe and giving us information on the national trust and local garden centre. Lovely campsite Thanks wayne
