Advertised as having a bar but dogs not allowed as also an eating establishment Even though resteraunt is separated from the bar area Was told we could sit outside it's 8pm and freezing The bar area was just a basic bar no one eating Very disappointed Currently caravaning her paid a lot of money for nothing special

Stayed one night on the campsite. Pitches are flat with electric and water. The place is on the boundary of the fishing lake. Showers and toilets very clean. Showers big and hot. A bit confusing when checking in, head past the weigh bridge and down to the tackle shop before heading back to the campsite. We arrived in a heat wave and did get the odd small from the local sewage treatment plant but likely because of the heat. The club house has an American feel and is fully air conditioned with a rage of food options and lovely friendly staff Wifi was a bit lacking We had a quiet night watching a meteor shower.

We stayed for a weekend in one of the "Hobbit House" heated glamping pods which are probably the best pods I've encountered so far. With a generous double bed, coffee and tea facilities, a TV and even a mini fridge! The one we stayed in lacked toilet and washing facilities (although they do offer larger pods that include these for a price) but the toilet and shower block were right next to us and incredibly clean well equipped, there also a shared laundrette for longer stays. We were able to park right outside our pod. We had family staying in one of the new static caravans which were well appointed, spacious and comfortable with nice views of the lake. I think the pod was excellent value for money. The club house is charmingly decorated in lovely surroundings with reasonably priced food and drink. The staff were friendly and helpful but there were a couple of issues, such a a good portion of the menu being sold out (it was high season though) and with the occasional hair in the food and rock-solid stale toast, but we weren't expecting the world for the price. I assumed that there would be fishing tackle hire as that is their principle business and was surprised to find that was not an option which was disappointing as I didn't want to lug all my equipment for a weekend visit. Of course that it my own mistake and I should have checked beforehand but I mention it for the benefit of others who might be in the same position. I feel like they are missing a trick here and perhaps it will change as they seem to be expanding the accommodation options on-site. Therefore I can't comment on the fishing, but the anglers I spoke to were very complimentary. Oswestry is a lovely border town within walking distance or a short drive of the site, there are supermarkets, takeaways, pubs, restaurants, quaint cafes and entertainment options. I would highly recommend a stay at Weston Pools and none of the little issues we encountered were deal breakers to us and far outweighed by the lovely surroundings, friendly and welcoming staff and excellent accommodation.
