Castle Farm Holidays Shropshire - Ash - Glamping Pod
Shropshire
View on Google MapsAsh is a timber-built glamping pod, a simple rural retreat in the open landscape between Ellesmere and Oswestry. The single bedroom holds a double bed, and there is a shower block a short walk away—shared with other properties on the site but modern, with heated towel rails and an outdoor sink for washing up. The pod itself contains a small kitchen area with a microwave and fridge, a living space without a television, and electric heating. Electricity, WiFi, bed linen and towels are included. You get your own parking space and a picnic table in the enclosed grounds, and one pet can stay free.
Ellesmere lies five miles away, home to the Shropshire Meres—a string of glacial lakes with waterside walks and independent shops. Oswestry, nine miles off, has high street shops and markets. The Welsh border is barely a mile away, making this a practical base for exploring Llangollen with its steam railway and canal rides, or for walking to Castell Dinas Brân. History buffs will find Chirk Castle, Erddig Hall and Whittington Castle within reach, while the Llangollen Canal runs north towards the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a World Heritage Site. Closer still, St Martins village—two miles away—has a supermarket, café and pub. Smoking is not permitted in the pod.

Lovely glamping holiday. The hut was simple but clean and cosy. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk left for us on arrival. The fire pit and marshmallows we ordered were all ready as well. They even left dog treats for our dog. The site is unbelievably clean and super quiet. Great place to get away for a few nights

I had such a nice time here. I've never been glamping before and wasn't sure what to expect but it was fantastic. I'd communicated with the owner during the week before and she got back to promptly to explain a few things I'd missed in the booking email. The cabin itself was really quite spacious, I've been led to believe they're slightly bigger and more equipped than other glamping pods out there. It had heating too which was much needed on the mornings. The facilities were all brilliant, nice warm showers, big sinks to wash up the dishes, picnic table to eat on. There's even a place to sit in besides the pods with comfy chairs and enough tour guides to give you endless possibilities. Honestly couldn't recommend this place enough and we'll definitely be booking again in the future.

The pods were very clean and included very good amenities ie fridge, kettle and toaster. There were even treats for our lil pooch. We used the air beds we had taken to make sleeping more comfortable. The shower and toilet block were kept very clean. The owners were very helpful and no problem was too much trouble. The people in the other pods were very friendly too. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to try glamping. Sitting out under the stars with fairy lights around the pod gave it a magical touch. Really enjoyed are stay and everyone we met in Shropshire and Wales were very friendly.

We have recently come back from a lovely break at castle farm. We hired most of the pods and one of the cottages. It was perfect for our family group. Pods and facilities clean upon arrival and hosts were there if needed hut not intrusive. We used the field opposite to run our dog off the lead, which was a bonus for us. Would recommend and will be back.
