Cronkhill Farmhouse is a timber-framed farmhouse dating from the 17th century, remodeled by Regency architect John Nash. It stands on the National Trust's Attingham Park Estate in Shropshire, surrounded by grounds that include a walled garden with fruit trees and an brick apple store. The interior retains period character—beamed ceilings, quarry-tiled floors, and an open fireplace—alongside six bedrooms and three bathrooms that sleep up to 14 guests.
The ground floor holds a living room with Freeview TV and DVD player, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for cooking from scratch, with an electric range, dishwasher and all standard appliances. Upstairs, bedrooms vary from a double with ensuite to a cluster of single beds, serving families and groups equally well. Bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with heating and the fuel needed for the open fire. Outside, a large enclosed garden has furniture and a charcoal barbecue; there is also a table tennis table. The property is yours entirely, and one dog is welcome.
Shrewsbury lies close by, and within half a mile you'll find a shop, post office and country pub. Attingham Park itself—a Regency mansion in a deer park—is a mile away and open for exploration on foot year-round. Smoking is not permitted inside.
