The Mytton & Mermaid Hotel

Lovely setting right on the river. The restaurant food is delicious- we had breakfast and dinner there. The bedroom was comfortable but took a while to get used to the sloping floors. One word of warning - the stairs to go to the bedrooms are very steep.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We recently held a lunchtime staff gathering for a party of 11 at the Mytton & Mermaid, and it was excellent from start to finish. We were given the use of a private dining room, which made the occasion feel relaxed and welcoming. Karl, who looked after us throughout, provided exceptional service. He was friendly, attentive and professional, making sure everyone had everything they needed without ever being intrusive. Drinks arrived promptly, water was kept topped up throughout the meal, and all of the food was served efficiently despite the size of our group. Every dish arrived in good time, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. There wasn’t a single complaint from anyone in our party. The Mytton & Mermaid has long been a favourite of mine and one of the colleagues who attended, so we were delighted that it more than lived up to the high expectations we’d set when recommending it for our staff lunch. We certainly weren’t disappointed, and neither was anyone else in the group. A huge thank you to Karl and all of the team for making our lunchtime gathering such a success. We really appreciated the warm welcome, excellent food and first-class hospitality, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Mytton & Mermaid to anyone.

Six of us had a meal to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We love the atmosphere and surroundings at the Mytton and Mermaid. Service from Minnie, our waitress, was excellent - she was totally charming and attentive. Our food was fabulous with some exciting and unusual ingredients including a wonderful salad containing pineapple, melon and lotus roots (a first). Pudding arrived with an unexpected acknowledgement of the birthday- a considerate touch. We will return, especially after discovering the riverside seating and bar marquee as we left. A memorable meal in a pretty venue supported by excellent service throughout.

Great personal service from Alec which we appreciated. Interesting drink choices. Food was good and although the kitchen confused our order we were only charged for the original choices. They were busy when we needed to leave and, as a result, it was difficult to organise payment.
