The Cider House

Shropshire

Ludlow's food scene is seven miles south, the Clee Hills rise around you, and Bridgnorth's riverside walks are within reach—The Cider House sits well for exploring this corner of Shropshire. The property itself is a pub conversion from the 18th century, retaining original stone flags and a bread oven built into the lounge, alongside a wood burner for cold evenings. Upstairs are two bedrooms (one double, one single) and a bathroom; downstairs, a living and dining space, kitchen with full cooking facilities, a shower room, and utility room with washer and dryer.

The real draw is outside. A courtyard and enclosed front garden form the main entertaining space, furnished and ready for use. The pizza oven is functional and separate from a gas barbecue on the patio. You get parking for three cars on site, bike storage, and access to 180 acres of shared grounds. One dog stays free; bed linen, towels, heating and wi-fi are all included. The property is no-smoking throughout. It works for a small family or couple wanting both countryside quiet and the option of proper meals nearby—the pub itself has a reputation for ciders and Sunday lunch.

Awful place. Hiked cross country to get here hoping for a nice country pub. Large signs shouting dont do this and that. 2 intimidating bouncers glaring at us as we walked in. Full of hardened drinkers. The 'garden' was concrete slabs with no shade. The only bit of grass was blocked off on a bank holiday. Shan't be back.

Always wanted to come here ever since I started coming over to bridgenorth but never made it for some reason. I never knew anythong about it just always saw the sign post for 'the ciderhouse' and as a lover of cider, wanted to go. The vision I had was a road building for some reason lol why, I dunno. Its on old building with plenty character, just like its regulars in there who made us feel welcome instantly. Really enjoyed it there. Roaring fire on the go too as it was a very cold day Thanks for the recommendation of your very strong cider house cider lol defo warmed me up inside lol

Nasty horrible place! Looks a tip! Way to many rules! Like being back at school! Big boards everywhere telling you not to do this don't do that surprised they don't have rules about how much of their air you can breathe! Steer clear! Staff are not friendly at all and have no clue what so ever! I was told good things about this place unfortunately they were wrong! Avoid!
