The Garden Lodge sits on the Wales and Shropshire border in the Teme Valley, surrounded by countryside that draws walkers to Offa's Dyke, Glyndwr's Way, the Mortimer Trail and the Shropshire Hills AONB. The owners have mapped local walks starting from the property itself. The White Lion pub is half a mile away; Knighton with shops, restaurants and the Offa's Dyke Centre lies 3 miles off.

Everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with Freeview TV and DVD player, a kitchen with electric cooker and microwave, a double bedroom, and a shower room. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with use of the washing machine by arrangement. Outside is a small enclosed courtyard with seating and garden furniture, plus parking for one car. Pets stay free and are welcome throughout.

The lodge suits couples and those travelling with a dog. Smoking is not permitted indoors. Castles at Ludlow, Powys and Clun are within reach, as are the market towns of Newtown and Welshpool.

This place is absolutely wonderful. A little haven on its own. The hosts have done a fantastic job creating this little lodge. We loved it and our puppy loved it even more. Lots to see and do in the area and a lovely pub 1 minutes walk. We will be going back.

Really nice place to stay with its own garden with a stream running through it. The cabin is beautifully decorated with a very high quality feel. Dog friendly too.

What a gem of a place. Everything you want is there for a great stay. It is spotlessly clean, plenty of room for 2 people and a dog and has a big, private garden area to chill out on a sunny day. There is a pond with various fish and a small stream going through the garden with a bridge over it. The owners are at hand if needed but you are left to yourselves. There is an excellent pub minutes away and is a base for exploring the area, or chilling out. Only very minor negative is the main road that can be a bit noisy at times and need to cross if going to the pub. This did not stop us or detract from an excellent stay, definitely be back.
