The Larches

The Larches is a detached house built to take advantage of its hillside setting. Four bedrooms sleep eight, arranged across two floors: a king and three doubles (two double, two single), along with two bathrooms serving the property. Ground-floor living spaces include a sitting room with woodburner, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. A utility room with washing machine and walk-in shower complete the practical side of things.

The grounds are the real draw. A large garden spreads around the house with patio seating, garden furniture and a barbecue, overlooking Clee Hill across open countryside. Off-road parking accommodates four cars. One dog can come along free of charge. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; the woodburner's fuel is too. No smoking inside.

Ludlow, a market town with independent shops, pubs and restaurants, lies five miles away. Closer to hand are the Stretton and Clee Hills, Mortimer Forest and the border country towards Wales and Herefordshire—all walking territory. Historic sites dot the region: several castles and Ironbridge Gorge's museums are within reach. For a night staying put, Craven Arms is eleven miles off.
