Bishops Castle, Church Stretton and Clun sit within a short drive, all marked as walkers' welcome destinations with established footpath networks. The Long Mynd and Cardingmill Valley are equally accessible, their ridge walks and valley routes drawing hikers throughout the year. National Trust and English Heritage properties dot the wider area, while independent retailers and farmers' markets populate the market towns. The Welsh border lies just beyond, worth crossing for specific pursuits. A pub and shop stand a quarter-mile away on foot.
Walkmill Lodge is a converted stone building arranged on a single floor, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms serving four guests. One bedroom holds a double bed with ensuite shower; the second has two single beds opening to a decking area, with a separate bath and shower. The open-plan living space centers on a wood burner, with seating and a dining area that flows through French doors onto a patio. The kitchen is fully fitted for self-catering. Essentials including bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are covered; logs for the burner come with the cottage from November through March.
An enclosed garden surrounds the property, with furniture on the patio and an orchard beyond. Private parking accommodates two cars. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The cottage does not permit smoking.
