About Hollins Farm Holiday Park

At the foot of Arnside Knott in the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape, Hollins Farm Holiday Park delivers a rare combination: working-farm tranquillity with the bonus of top-tier facilities at its sister site fifteen minutes' walk away. The beach is five minutes on foot, while rolling farmland, woodland and green countryside encircle the park—perfect for walkers keen to explore this corner of Lancashire or venture into the nearby Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.

On-site you'll find a friendly, chilled-out atmosphere where you can meet the resident cows, fire up the barbecue and challenge the family to pool or table football in the games room. Kids have their own playground, and practical amenities—showers, launderette, chemical disposal—are all well covered. When you fancy a livelier vibe, stroll over to the sister park for its indoor pool, gym, restaurant-bar and bowling lanes.

Some reviewers note the terrain can be uneven with gravel patches, but most agree the spectacular setting and warm welcome more than compensate. Silverdale and Arnside villages are five minutes' drive for shops, cafés and pubs.

First the positives: Clean shower and toilet facilities Tidy site Great views Good to have use of the pool down the road Negatives: Very much felt like the fun police ran the site. We were told on arrival that its complete silence after 10pm and that even whispers can be heard. Thought this was a very odd thing to say. Staff patrol the site at 10pm telling everyone to be quiet however then a group of kids were all running round for another half hour. Secondly, signs everywhere saying bbqs must be raised off the floor. Absolutely fine. Our raised bbq doubles as a fire pit so after we finished cooking our food we put a log on. No more than 10 minutes later a staff member came over and dumped a bucket of water on it without warning. Just walked over, dumped the water, said no fires and walked off. Very very odd behaviour and just so abrupt. We genuinely did not realise there would be an issue and this is not the way to go about things. All in all it was a disappointment as the attitude of the staff made us feel like we were at school and like we were being watched and monitored constantly. Its a shame as the site itself was nice. But for the money (over £100 for 2 nights), I have been to much nicer places with staff that dont think theyre running an army barracks.

We have been coming to Hollins Farm for quite a few years now. We love the peace and tranquility of this site and listening to the birds. The site is spotlessly clean and well managed by the two wardens Andy and Dawn, who work tirelessly and are always friendly, polite and helpful. Visitors are made aware of the site rules on arrival regarding no fire pits and no noise after 10.00 pm and to have consideration for other guests etc. It is such a shame that some people decide to ignore the site rules and then give the wardens a hard time for just doing their job. If you are wanting to come in large groups, play loud music and have fire pits, this is not the site for you.

This was our first time camping at Hollins. I have to say it was one of the best places we have been to for a long while. We found the wardens very informative and so helpful. Nothing was too much bother for them. They worked really hard and keep the park and the toilet block pristine. We were made aware of the no fire pit policy and it is a quiet site on our arrival(Which was bliss). We were with our family and they were put in the next spot to us. There was another group on the field too. I must say their children were awful and so naughty. Their parents just wanted to drink and ignore them. They attempted to light a fire pit and had got it going when the wardens came round and saw them. We could hear they asked them to put it out and reminded them about the No fire pit rule. They just laughed at them , I’m not sure what was said but the warden put the fire out promptly. Nothing more was said. But they made sure that everyone on the field know how angry they were. Thus was the only thing that spoiled our night as the next night they had left and the pitch was so much quieter. We will be back here as it is a lovely site and we know we will be looked after.
