About Crowne Plaza Solihull

Crowne Plaza Solihull puts a decent spread on the table, with a restaurant and bar covering dinner and a varied breakfast, plus snacks and room service for anyone who'd rather not leave their room. Kids' meals and packed lunches are available too, which suits families or early starters heading into Birmingham for the day.

The 120 rooms are air-conditioned and en-suite, with family and accessible options among them, and come with drinks in the room and the sort of practical extras business travellers need, including meeting rooms and business services. Beds and general upkeep are a strength here, and staff are consistently described as helpful and professional. There's an indoor pool, gym and spa/sauna on site, though the pool area doesn't always get the same care as the rest of the hotel.

Outside, there's a garden and outdoor seating, and on-site parking is available for a charge, alongside an electric vehicle point. The address on Homer Road in Solihull puts guests near pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, with a golf course also within reach for those wanting to fill an afternoon.

One of the best IHG property we have stayed. Very courteous staff. Staff go all the way to ensure it is a “Home away from home”. Excellent very spacious rooms. Washroom was quite large. Ample parking and in the center of Solihul. Plenty of other staff members from failing IHG properties can come to this location to “learn” how to ensure guests are made comfortable. This property is at an Intercontinental level of hospitality and cleanliness. Food was excellent. Will definitely come back here.

Make sure you read your contract if running an event here -- they aren't like other IHG properties who are flexible. Paid for a number of delegates and had a few that weren't going to arrive but the hotel didn't remind me to update numbers (granted my fault) and charged for all of the delegates due to 'pre-ordering food'. Money grabbing Im afraid. Event food very poor -- odd combination of hot food on day 2 including watery pasta dish - and plain sandwiches on day 1. Day 2 didn't event see a staff member to liaise with. Not worth the £60 day delegate rate. Dirty pool area and looks like it comes from the 60s -- broken tiles, very dirty in the locker rooms and under benches and generally dirty all over the pool floor. Furniture plastic and hardly anything in there. Cheap bedroom mattresses so not that comfortable. Do yourself a favour and book a different IHG property.
