Periton Park Court - Garden Retreat

Photo: John Taylor

Periton Park Court Garden Retreat is a ground-floor cottage converted from the Victorian country house's original coach house and stables. The whole property is yours alone: a single double bedroom, shower room, and an open-plan living space with kitchen and dining area, furnished with essentials including bed linen, towels and wifi. Heating and electricity are included, and there is private parking for two cars.

The cottage sits within 30 acres of grounds—gardens, pasture and woodland—reached via a private drive. One dog is welcome and stays free. You have access to a heated outdoor swimming pool (open May to September) and shared laundry facilities with washing machine and tumble dryer. A sitting-out area with garden furniture and barbecue overlooks the grounds.

The location matters most. A fenced track from the property gives direct access to Exmoor National Park, making this a natural base for walkers, cyclists and horse riders exploring the moorland beyond. Minehead is nearby on the coast. No smoking is permitted in the cottage.

Stayed at Periton Court many times. The owners always welcoming. Can't recommend it enough. Superb accommodation. Excellent base for sightseeing. Close to Exmoor and the picturesque village of Dunster.

Self catering accommodation in beautiful surroundings on the edge of Exmoor. Several different options including dogs accepted, nice grounds with direct access to the countryside and directly off the A39 on the edge Minehead, where there is a good selection of shops and restaurants.

Absolutely stunning surroundings. Beautiful countryside everywhere you look. A lovely pool set within and a minute walk from our cottage which was fab. We stayed in the stable cottage which had a twin room and a double. The kitchen was open plan with the dining and lounge area. Could have done with a lamp in the lounge. A luvly table and chair was set right outside the door and also bench at the front to catch the evening sun. It could really have done with a proper table there. There are no negatives at all only a couple of suggestions. The owners were right on hand if u needed them with suggestions of eating out etc.
