The Castle

Brean's stretch of sandy beach draws families and dog owners year-round, and The Castle sits at the heart of this Somerset village with direct access down to the shore. The house itself is unusual—built to resemble a Mediterranean castle, complete with hand-carved stone features—and comes with grounds that include an enclosed rear garden, decking, barbecue lodge, and a children's play area. One dog stays free, and the beach nearby welcomes them throughout the year.

Inside are four bedrooms sleeping eight: two with king beds and ensuite showers, one with a double, and one with bunks. Three bathrooms serve the property, along with a kitchen equipped for proper cooking (electric oven, induction hob, range, dishwasher), a utility room with washer and dryer, and a sitting room. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. The layout spreads across ground level with a couple of steps at the entrance; the rear garden has further steps up to its upper level, and the route to the beach involves gated access and steps down through the dunes. Cots, highchairs and stairgates are available. No smoking throughout.
