Cheddar Gorge and Longleat are both within driving distance of this converted barn in Knole, a hamlet on the edge of Somerset. The north Somerset and Dorset coasts lie roughly equidistant too, along with Wookey Hole Caves, the Fleet Air Arm Museum, and the cathedral towns of Wells and Glastonbury. A pub is within a mile on foot.
The Old Haybarn has two bedrooms—a kingsize and a twin—plus one bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs, the living room centres on a woodburner; the kitchen/dining room has everything needed to cook and eat together. A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer means you can pack light. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included, along with logs for the fire. There is private parking for two cars, an EV charging point (at cost), and a garden with patio and barbecue.
The property is available to couples and families only. No smoking.

Just got home from lovely week away at the Old Haybarn Knole. The barn has everything, was spotlessly clean, well equipped and peaceful. Well located for exploring both Somerset and Devon.

Just got back! Miss it already! This converted barn is big enough for 4 adult friends. You would need to be tolerant of each others company, or be a family that gets on or just part of a space loving couple. Whatever; you would love this. Quiet, chilled, restful with a great large double bed, with a second bedroom. It has every thing you need and great wifi. My only issue, was the odd long legged spider. It of I didnt run screaming from the building, neither will you. The countryside is wonderful, the roads and towns , picturesque. To get to a coast/beach from the Old Haybarn, is a bit of a mission and a 'grand day out', but if that's fine with you, this is a great base. The owner is lovely and maybe, when the grapes on her vines mature, they'll give a complimentry bottle of dry white with every rental. One can only hope. If you do get the chance to go, I hope you enjoy.
