Viaduct Fisheries - Alpine

Photo: Viaduct Fishery

Viaduct Fisheries sits within grounds that spread across 23 acres of natural landscape studded with six lakes. The setting feels genuinely removed from everyday life, yet Somerton's shops and pubs are within easy reach, and larger towns like Street and Glastonbury lie just a short drive away. The whole estate has a quiet, rural character that suits both those looking to fish and those simply wanting space and stillness.

Alpine is a two-bedroom lodge sleeping four, with both bedrooms furnished as twins. Everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living and dining area with a 40-inch TV, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking (oven, hob, dishwasher, large fridge), and a shower room. Outside there is a lawned garden with patio and seating, plus parking for up to three cars on-site. Essentials like heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.

The lodge works equally well for couples, small families, or friends looking for a low-key break. If fishing interests you, the lakes provide different spots to try; if not, the grounds themselves—shared with other lodges but genuinely spacious—offer plenty of room to walk and settle. No smoking is permitted in the property.

Wow, what an absolute gem to find. Suitable for my son to fish, me to work a bit and then relax in the hot tub. The cabin was immaculate, beautiful and had everything we needed. The beds were so comfy - the best I've ever experienced with Air BnB! The hot tub was spotless and in great condition; the grounds are simply a little treasure tucked in the peaceful countryside - you can tell everything is so well maintained. Helen and Steve were so helpful and really took care of us - it was like being with family. Then you have Sally and Ed who are amazing and their hard work did not go unnoticed - thank you! We could not have asked for a more peaceful little break. Over 3 days my son caught 24 fish, totalling 208lbs... he was delighted - and exhausted! We will definitely be back - how could we not!
