West Knole - Paddock View

Photo: Self-Catering Barns at West Knole House

Langport sits in low-lying Somerset between the Polden Hills and the River Parrett, surrounded by working farmland and quiet lanes. West Knole – Paddock View occupies the far end of a converted barn on a smallholding, where open fields and distant countryside fill the view. The property sleeps two in a single bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and everything is on one level.

The main living space combines sitting and dining areas under exposed original brickwork, with a wood-burning stove, Smart TV and a table for four. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking; heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included, along with logs for the burner. A separate toilet sits off the hallway. Outside, a patio with barbecue and enclosed lawn face the paddocks – these are shared with other properties on the site. Parking for two cars is provided on the land. No smoking inside the property.

The village location puts a pub within a mile's walk, and the countryside setting suits anyone looking for genuine peace and quiet rather than activities or attractions. The nearest town, Langport itself, has independent shops and cafés.

We've just had a 4 night stay in Stable view. This is for everyone who enjoys good quality accomodation. Set in lovely gardens with their paddock alongside, and the pretty village is very peaceful. Lots to see in the area including including several National Trust properties. Friendly dogs, horses, chickens, oh, and the hard working owners are included too! Hope to stay again. Fully recommended.

This accommodation was clean, cosy and welcoming. We had a lovely two, night stay here and couldn’t have asked for better hosts, they were amazing, friendly, and incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. This was a last-minute booking, but we thoroughly enjoyed every moment and already can’t wait to visit again. And of course, the three adorable four-legged friends were the perfect addition, giving us the warmest welcome.
