Dunster Castle stands within walking distance of The Oval, a three-bedroom cottage sleeping six that sits in the heart of the village itself. Exmoor and North Devon lie within easy reach by car, as do Somerset's sandy beaches and scattered National Trust properties. The location works equally well for exploring on foot—the village has plenty to discover, and the surrounding countryside opens up from here.
Inside, the cottage spreads across two floors with genuine character. The ground floor holds a living room with a woodburner and comfortable seating, a separate sitting room for quiet time, a dining room opening onto a small courtyard, and a kitchen equipped to cook proper meals. Upstairs, three bedrooms divide between a four-poster double with its own bathroom, a double with an ensuite bath and shower, and two single beds in the third room. There are two bathrooms in total. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; logs for the fire come with the booking.
The whole property is yours alone. One dog can stay free of charge. There is private parking 150 yards away, with a permit provided for the National Trust car park nearby. The cottage has some low ceilings and doorways, uneven flooring in places, and steep steps leading to a decked garden area—details worth considering when booking.
