Wellington Farm - Ramscliff Cottage
Somerset
View on Google MapsCouples seeking quiet will find Ramscliff Cottage well suited to their needs. The cottage occupies a secluded spot high in the Mendips, where Wellington Farm keeps pygmy goats, alpacas and guinea pigs; badgers and deer visit from the surrounding hills. Nature trails cross the landscape immediately around you, and the whole area—designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—rewards exploration on foot. Cheddar lies three miles away, and from here you can reach Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor, the caves at Wookey, Longleat House and Safari Park, or the Georgian architecture and Roman Baths of Bath in under an hour.
The cottage is one bedroom and one bathroom, sleeping two. A ground-floor open-plan space combines living and kitchen areas; the bedroom has a kingsize bed. You have an electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer, Freeview TV, DVD and CD player. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Oil central heating keeps things warm. The property is yours alone, with private parking on site. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted.
The Mendips offer serious interest for walkers and nature enthusiasts: bird and wildlife are abundant, and the geology and history of the region are equally rich. If you want to venture further, horse riding, fishing at Chew Valley and Blagdon Lakes, and several golf clubs operate locally. Weston Super Mare beach is 17 miles away. The nearest shop, pub and restaurant are three miles off.
