Millstone Meadow - Hare Lodge

Hare Lodge suits couples, small families, or friends after a rural base without the crowds. Set within Millstone Meadow near Swadlincote, it puts you opposite Hartshorne Wood and within reach of the wider National Forest. A pub is less than a mile away, so there's food and drink without having to venture far.

The lodge itself sits on one level, accessed by four steps. Open-plan living runs kitchen, dining and sitting areas together, with doors onto a wrap-around deck where you can watch the fields and sit outside. There are two bedrooms—one with a double bed and TV, the other a smaller double—and a shower room. The kitchen has what you need to cook properly: oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi come as standard. One parking space is on site.

The woodland opposite offers walking and cycling routes through trees and open ground. If you're travelling as a larger group, Hare Lodge can be booked with the neighbouring Owl Lodge to sleep six together across two properties. No smoking inside.
