Hope Cove sits on one of Devon's finest stretches of coastline, with wooded cliffs rising behind a safe, sandy beach. Mariners Rest occupies the heart of this small seaside village, where thatched cottages, a couple of inns and a shop line the streets within easy walking distance. The South Devon coastal footpath runs through the cove, connecting Salcombe and Thurlestone with dramatic cliff-top walking between them.
The inn sleeps five across three bedrooms: a double and two singles downstairs, with another single upstairs. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower. The living and dining room has a Freeview television and electric fire, while the kitchen is equipped for self-catering—electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. Patio doors open onto an enclosed garden with seating. Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included, and there is private parking for one car. One small dog is welcome. No smoking inside.
The beach itself is just 100 yards away, making this an unbeatable base for swimming or simply being by the sea. For those interested in water sports, a dinghy slip sits 200 yards along the cove, and Salcombe—four miles east—is one of Britain's leading sailing centres with larger boat facilities and a wider choice of restaurants and shops. Thurlestone, two miles west along the coast path, adds more sandy beaches and a cliff-top golf course.

Great place to stay for a great price close to the beach shops pubs I recommend highly. 2nd time here still a great place, but needs the damp sorting.
