Blackdown Farm

Dartmouth is five miles away, but Blackdown Farm sits far enough back into the South Hams landscape that you feel properly rural. The property is a barn conversion on a working farm, done to a high standard with modern comforts tucked into traditional bones. It sleeps 8 across three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and you get the whole place to yourselves—useful if you're bringing an extended family or two households together.

The layout works around a reverse-level design. Ground floor holds the kitchen (electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher), a utility room with washer and dryer, and a bedroom with ensuite. Upstairs, the living room has a vaulted ceiling and countryside views, a woodburner for colder months, and access to the patio garden. Two more bedrooms are on this floor, one with its own ensuite and one sharing a family bathroom with bath and shower. The beds are flexible—the two zip-and-link super kings can be split into singles if needed. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; a travel cot and highchair are available. Outside there's a lawned area for games and a patio with BBQ and garden furniture.

It suits families wanting space and a working farm setting without losing easy access to Dartmouth. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted.
