Waterfront

Waterfront is a three-bedroom cottage for six people on the Devon coast, a few steps from Torcross beach and overlooking Slapton Ley. The restored property combines period character with contemporary open-plan living across a ground floor that flows from sitting room through dining space into a fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs, one bedroom has an ensuite; the other two rooms share a family bathroom. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are all included, along with a cot and highchair if needed.

This is the kind of place that suits both families wanting a proper kitchen and couples seeking somewhere to settle in. The sitting area has a woodburner for cooler days. The kitchen runs to a dishwasher, wine cooler and coffee machine, so there's no hardship in self-catering. Two outdoor spaces—front patio and rear garden—mean you can sit with views or shelter from the breeze depending on the weather. One car can park on-site; further spaces are available on the road.

From the cottage, the South West Coastal Path leads inland and out along the shore to other villages and beaches. Torcross has a pub and cafe within walking distance. Inland, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe are short drives away. A local bus stops outside, connecting to other coastal settlements.
