About Sugar Park Campsite

Sugar Park Campsite occupies a peaceful spot just outside Beesands on Devon's South Hams coast, offering straightforward, back-to-basics camping for those who prefer a simpler setup. The fifteen non-electric pitches suit tents and campervans equally well, and the site welcomes both dogs and campfires—a real draw for those who enjoy evenings gathered around the flames. Facilities are deliberately pared back (think loos and drinking water but no showers or WiFi), which won't suit everyone but appeals to campers seeking an unplugged escape.

The location is the real asset here: you're within easy reach of Start Point's dramatic coastline, the shingle beach at Beesands itself, and South Devon's network of coastal paths. It's a practical, no-frills base for exploring the area rather than a destination in its own right, but the warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere have earned it a loyal following among visitors who value simplicity over polish.

Great value for money camping spot with a beautiful view over the sea. There are around 10 pitches in a grass field (no hard standing). The toilets were clean enough but full of spiders, so if you have arachnophobia best to avoid! They also ran out of loo roll while we were staying.

Whilst still a newbie at this campervan-ering malarkey and arguably making it up as we're going along, me, the amazing wife and trusty hound Margo had an amazeballs stay at Sugar Park in Mabel the motorwagon. Whilst we only have a few comparisons to gauge my review, the ease of parking and subsequent stress free use of magical levelling ramps all made this a pretty special place..... and that's before you look up and see the view... Which is simply idyllic. Whilst there's no leccy and other mod cons, the facilities are turbo clean and fresh water aplenty. A bimble down the near footpath takes you to the coast, a few amazing eateries in the village of Beesands or, a little further afield to the north, Torcross and, my personal favourite, Street Gate Cafe further down the coast.... . Although tbh the dog was less impressed with that one, predominantly associated with the extra walking and the absence of not having her own hot chocolate! In the other direction , you have Start Point and Seals basking in the Sun. All in all, a great place to campervan, level pitches (ISH) very good toilets, washing sinks, ease of access and dog friendliness....and that amazing view ! Definitely recommend. 5/5

Absolutely perfect little campsite. The pitches are very spacious! Plenty room for a large tent plus kitchen marquee and a car! Spectacular views and only a short walk to the beach. Local pub and restaurant are brilliant too, both serve amazing daily catch seafood.
