Monkshood is one of four barn conversions at Wheeldon Farm, set across 240 acres of South Hams countryside midway between Dartmoor and the Devon coast. You get the whole property to yourself—four bedrooms sleeping eight, three bathrooms, and a wood-burning stove in the open-plan living space. Two of the bedrooms have their own shower rooms; the kitchen is fully fitted with an electric cooker, dishwasher and fridge-freezer for cooking from scratch or warming ready meals. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating are all included, and you can park two cars on site.

The shared facilities are the real draw. An indoor heated pool opens year-round, there's a games room with a full-size pool table, table tennis and table football, and a fitness room if you need one.
