Copper Beech Cabin
South Lanarkshire
The Mauldslie Estate near Carluke holds woodland walks, gardens to explore, and enough space to feel genuinely secluded. Carluke itself has shops and pubs within a short drive, and the surrounding South Lanarkshire countryside offers gentle routes for cycling or rambling. Copper Beech Cabin sits on this working estate as a standalone retreat—a hexagon-shaped wooden structure built in 2022, designed for couples seeking privacy rather than bustle.
Everything unfolds on one level: an open-plan living area with kitchen, dining and sitting space anchored by a wood-burning stove, a double bedroom with cotton bedding, and a separate shower room. An induction hob, combi oven and standard appliances cover self-catering meals. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels come as standard, and the wood burner has its initial fuel supplied. Outside, a patio holds garden furniture and a fire pit; the real draw is the wood-fired outdoor bath for two, screened for privacy. A bike store and parking for two cars complete the practical setup.
The cabin is adults only (no one under 18), and smoking is not permitted. The setting suits those wanting to disconnect without sacrificing hot water and heating, or couples after a quiet base for exploring the estate's gardens and woodland.
