What visitors say
Absolutely stunning venue. Grade 1 listed. Went to see my first gig here and was impressed at how beautiful it was. It was so well organised, I contacted the venue prior to arriving as I had an ankle injury, I was placed on a list for the accessible seating if required and given accessible toilet wrist band which was so helpful. I was able to sit on the stone steps for the gig so didn't need it in the end , but staff were so lovely and supportive. Drinks from the Wine Barrel were reasonably priced for a gig £7 a pint ( I have sometimes been charged £10 plus at a gig ). Queues were really well managed and served very quickly . It's easy to get around as there is lots of under balcony walk ways left empty to allow you to walk without pushing through crowds - brilliantly set up. There is also refillable water stations which is great. Toilets were really clean. the lighting at the venue and being able to see the spire behind the stage makes this venue so iconic - will definitely be looking out for more gigs here in the future and visiting the craft and art shops when it is not summer gig season. Loved it.

Excellent outdoor concert venue. No seating apart from a few steps so arrive early to snag a place. Courtyard with balconies around it. A few bars & fast food outlets. Well stewarded & organised. Surprisingly good sound quality. Saw James Taylor - excellent.

Sadly we chose to visit when the stage and stalls for the summer concerts had been erected. Which takes away from the ambiance of the historical nature of the hall. We will definitely go back though because the shops we visited were varied, friendly staff and dare I say it as a man... Smelt lovely!! It's a relaxing place and the parking we chose close by was only just over £5 for the day. Food was reasonably priced, which was good.

Gary Numan / Ladytron were both fantastic in this great venue. The security and staff in general were very friendly and thorough without being oppressive. My only negative comment is the stone floor is very hard on the feet when you're stood up for Hours, but worth the discomfort when you get such a great performance!
