About The Craigellachie Hotel
Built in 1893 to serve the railway that once connected Speyside's distilleries, the Craigellachie Hotel stands above the confluence of the Spey and the Fiddich, within walking distance of several major distilleries including Macallan and Glenfiddich. It remains one of the best-known addresses on the whisky trail.
The hotel's Quaich Bar holds one of the largest whisky collections open to the public in Scotland, with several hundred bottles ranging from everyday blends to rare single casks, and staff run regular tastings for guests. Bedrooms mix traditional and more contemporary styling across the original building and a later extension.
Dining draws on Speyside beef, game and Spey salmon, and the hotel's central position makes it a natural base for touring distilleries on foot or by short taxi journey, without needing to drive after tastings.

Our stay at the Craigellachie Hotel was lovely. The staff were all so warm and welcoming. The bed was so comfortable and the first truly good night sleep we had on our trip thus far. The toiletry products were all lovely as well. We ate dinner at the Spey Inn and had a very delicious meal, and the breakfast the next morning was equally as good. Great location in between the whisky stops and a great trail to run/walk on right next to the hotel. Highly recommend this excellent place to stay.

We stayed at the hotel for one evening, dined at the pub, and also did a whisky tasting during our stay. We made reservations for thr tasting and dinner online well before our visit. Parking is slightly limited but we didnt have an issue finding a parking spot upon arrival. The pub was great- the food was full of flavor and the desserts were amazing! There was a little confusion with the tasting even though I confirmed the times with both dinner and the tasting at check in. But we understand things happen and the owner did his best to accomodate. The rooms were great- lots of space both in the room and bathroom. Huge bed, slept great! Breakfast was included with our stay and they had a small buffet of items but you could also order from the kitchen at no cost. Would stay here again, we loved it here.

This is a very nice hotel. Quiet, inviting, and clean. The staff are accommodating and there is certainly a charm that grabs you immediately. The pub is 2nd to none for whisky and the restaurant is outstanding! The rooms are clean, quiet, and charming.

Lovely hotel, great location in Speyside. No lift, so specify if you need a room on the first floor (numbered 16+, I think). Bar (The Quaich) is superb and Oscar is a master pourer! Included breakfast is excellent, the restaurant downstairs is also excellent. We stayed for three nights and look forward to returning. Front desk staff very helpful, as well.
